Beverly Bazemore Akins

Beverly Bazemore Akins, 96, died Friday, July 27, 2012 at Azalealand Nursing Home.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Savannah and a member of St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, DeRoy M. Akins and two sons, DeRoy M. Akins, Jr. and Wray R. Akins.
She is survived by two granddaughters, Terri Akins Deason of Guyton, GA and Angela Akins Sauers of Savannah; one grandson, Wray Ronald Akins, Jr. of Savannah; one sister, Joan Evans of Dunedin, FL; five great grandsons, Brandon Deason, Jake Deason, Devin Murphy, Sam Murphy and Wray Akins, III and three great granddaughters, Ashley Baumann, Ashton Akins and Clare Murphy.
Graveside funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 in Bonaventure Cemetery with the Reverend Samuel W. Buice officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice Savannah Inc., P.O. Box 13190, Savannah, GA 31416.
